Roland Nipp is a licensed guitar instructor located in Richmond, B.C.  He has designed and instructed guitar courses for the Vancouver and Surrey School Boards, as well as taught privately for over 30 years.  Drawing from his extensive background and music library, Nipp tailors each lesson to meet the individual needs of his students.  From beginning guitarists to advanced players, Nipp will guide you toward playing your favourite songs, and teach guitar techniques in a variety of musical styles.

Roland:  “There’s nothing quite like playing music.  I feel fortunate to have been introduced to the guitar at a young age as it’s been a companion throughout my life and a source of rewarding and fun experiences on so many levels.  As a teacher, one of my goals is to share and develop your interest in music, and make guitar playing an enjoyable part of your life.  If you’re considering taking up the instrument for the first time, or wanting to further your current playing, I’ll do my best to understand your goals and interests, and make the lessons informative, fun and enjoyable.”

  • “his tasty tone choices perfectly match the mood of each song…a skilled player with a thoughtful and understated approach that maintains your attention through seduction rather than coercion…” – Barry Cleveland, Guitar Player

  • "reminiscent of Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, and the Beatles" – Mike Varney, Guitar Player

  • “full of wonderful sounds, great melodies that turn into great songs, and fine playing” – John Heidt, Vintage Guitar

  • "high musical drama...bluesy belting...echoing the tactical studio precision of fretboard audio pleasure worth repeating" - Robert Silverstein, 20th Century Guitar
